Most of us have felt like prisoners in our homes for the past year since we cannot live life as we used to. No going to the gym, no eating at the restaurants, no school, no work, no concerts, in short, we have been in dull moments. Some of us spent most of our time enjoying games such as hot spot za darmo just to keep the boring days at bay.
Luckily, countries worldwide are thinking of better ways they can return things to normal while keeping their citizens safe. Israeli, for instance, has designed a Green Pass, which is an entry pass for those who have been vaccinated as well as recovered Covid-19 patients. But is Israeli Covid Pass a model for the world?
Who Is Eligible for the Pass?
To understand this model, you need to know which group of people can use this pass for starters. The Green Pass is simply personal and given to vaccinated and recovered patients of the coronavirus. Currently, only these two groups are eligible, and none other is fit to use it. However, note that this pass has an expiration date. For example, the Green Pass is valid for six months for vaccinated individuals.
How Does the Israeli Covid Pass Work?
Israeli Covid pass was released on 21 February 2021 to help the country recover after a one-month lockdown. Those who are vaccinated can download the pass on their smartphones and fill in the required details. You can apply for the pass on the Green Pass website or download the application from Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
People applying for the passport will be required to verify themselves by providing details such as identity card number and their date of birth. They can then show the green pass when they are asked to. This can be a physical document or the one downloaded on the phone.
Israel is one of the leading countries with the highest vaccination rates globally, with over 50% of its citizens having received both doses of the vaccine. If you want to go to the gym or out with your friends, you will need a pass. This is a positive reinforcement, which most people are excited about, especially those working in the hospitality section.
According to the regulations, if you want to eat inside a restaurant, then a staff member has to check your pass by scanning the QR code. Those without a pass will have to sit outside while observing the government regulations.
It is through this pass that Israeli has begun going back to normal. Malls, hotels, and museums are reopening. The only drawback is that only those with the Green Pass can access such services or facilities like gyms, concerts, or hotels. However, it is likely that most countries will begin offering Covid passes for those with a history of the negative test or vaccinated just like Israelis. A good example of a state that has integrated a similar system is New York.
