5 NOMOS Club Watch To Cop In 2021

Date:

All watches essentially offer the same thing—a portable way to tell time. But, their pricing is wildly different. Some are higher on the price tier list, while others offer entry-level watches, accessible-priced timepieces that are equally functional and stylish. NOMOS is a brand that falls on the latter group, manufacturing quality watches that will not break your bank.

Recently, the household name marked the 175th anniversary of the watchmaking industry in Glashütte, Germany with the release of the limited edition Club Automatic model. It is offered in three different colors: navy, olive, and onyx, each presented in a 40mm stainless steel case with a polished finish.

LOOK: The NOMOS Club Automatic Gets A 2021 Update

All three versions of the new NOMOS watches carry the same dial design with numeral indexes at the even hours and luminescent sword hands for the rest. It also features a small seconds display above 6 o’clock. At the core of the watch is the in-house, self-winding Caliber DUW 5001 with a proprietary swing system the company also created.

The three models are presented in three different straps: a blue-black textile strap for the navy, a light gray textile strap for the olive, and the trademarked NOMOS Sport bracelet for the onyx. Each of these models is limited to just 175 pieces, with the navy and olive versions retailing for $2,620 and the onyx priced at $2,920.

These variants are a refresh of an already compelling product. As a sports watch, the Club Automatic is rated as a water-resistant of up to 200 meters. They still feature the core aesthetics of the brand, which include a modernist font, a minimalist approach in design, and the clever use of colors.

However, the brand offers much more than contemporary looks, but fine watchmaking skills and a history that dates back to 1990. Despite being much younger than its competitors, the brand has already made an unrivaled impact on the Glashütte watch industry.

History and What Makes it a Great Brand

NOMOS is an independent German watch brand based in Glashütte, a town that is about 2 hours away from Berlin, where it neighbors with nearly a dozen other watchmakers such as A Lange & Sohne and Glashütte Original.

Today, the brand remains an independent manufacturer which watches remain at prices accessible to the general public. For a watch to carry the coveted Glashütte name, at least 50% of its value must be produced locally. It was a feat that the brand took years to achieve by manufacturing its movements in-house.

The NOMOS Club Automatic Models

The NOMOS Club is by far one of the most in-demand watches from the brand, owing to its affordable prices. It’s just expensive enough to be a quality German watch, but not too expensive for the younger buyers to afford. Robust, functional, and affordable, the watches under this collection are plain fun yet they are built to survive years of wear and tear.

Convinced? Even when you don’t have the chance to get your hands on the new limited edition Club models, there are still other options that are well worth checking out. These include the sub-collections of the Club Campus, Sport Neomatik, Manual-Winding, etc.
